FIRST FLIGHT to SUVARNABHUMI

Miss Siam in Northern Thailand (photo: T.Claytor)

THIS IS THE PLAN... WAITING FOR FINAL APPROVAL.

The 29th of September may mark a historic day in the progress of Aviation in Thailand -- the soft opening of the new Bangkok International Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Miss Siam - the first private aircraft in Thailand - will honor this day by hopefully landing at the new airport.

All General Aviation Light Aircraft in Thailand and from around the world may be invited to participate in the "Soft Opening Ceremonies" for the new airport.

The Plan is for Miss Siam (Travelair 2000) from Tango Squadron to fly into Suvarnabhumi in the afternoon on 29 September 2005. Thai Flying Club and other Flying Clubs and other Private aircraft may be invited to join the ceremony and to land at Suvarnabhumi AFTER Miss Siam has landed.

Coordination for this event is very important, and Kruu Piya (Harrier Pilot for Royal Thai Navy & Chief Instructor at Thai Flying Club) will be coordinating the arrival of Private Aircraft from Thai Flying Club AFTER Miss Siam has landed. This is the PLAN, but we have to wait for final approval from all concerned authorities.

If you would like to join this historic General Aviation Fly-in, then please email Kruu Piya (mobile: 098980052) to find out the correct procedure. Any other questions, you may contact Tango Squadron, Pattaya Airpak or Thai Flying Club.

International Aircraft will need a Flight Permit and an Invitation Letter from the club.

Hopefully... See you there.
